When buying products on the internet, consumers enjoy a host of legal protections that do not apply to businesses. This terms and conditions of sale template avoids extending protections intended for consumers to business customers. It does this by having certain provisions that apply only to businesses and equivalent but different provisions that apply only consumers. For example, consumers may benefit from a generous returns policy (as mandated by the Distance Selling Regulations); but sellers are unlikely to want to extend the protections of those Regulations to business customers. The template therefore includes a distinct returns policy for each class of customer.

Avoid this template if you will not be selling to both consumers and businesses. If you will be supplying exclusively to consumers, you should consider our consumer-specific terms of sale document.
